How To: Choosing Grace Over Perfection

How To: Choosing Grace Over Perfection

Logging in to any social media platform, it’s easy to get lost in the images of so-called perfection. Daily, we’re bombarded with impossible standards.

It’s easy to lose sight of our genuine worth as human beings when the world wants to tell us that we’re only valued when we look, say, buy, or do certain things.

The world pushes perfection through its own distorted lens of impossible standards. But God pushes grace through His perfect Son, Jesus.

We need more grace and not more impossible standards.

How can we learn to give ourselves real grace in a world that demands perfection?

Thank you for this insightful timely article Amber! This is surely the issue as I see it too, where too many of us broken children of God concern ourselves with “image” or “likes” and what the world is dictating as acceptable or not; the world does not grant eternal life in Paradise, nor can it know me even an infinitesimal minute fraction of how the Lord knows me; so absolutely! This excerpt rang so powerfully in my heart!

“easy to lose sight of our genuine worth as human beings”

The only thing that can calculate or perceive our true value and total composite worth is God through “Jesus Christ who knows us through and by our hearts!”

“17Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Turn away from them. 18For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. 19Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice over you. But I want you to be wise about what is good and innocent about what is evil.” Romans 16:18-19

“You may say that it is none of your business, but God knows and judges your motives. He keeps watch on you; he knows. And he will reward you according to what you do.” Proverbs 24:12

Amber, this tells me plainly that is it not what convention or people and the world tell me is best for me, as we plainly see demonstrated lately with a so called president dictating what we need and must do according to him or maligned worldly agendas; because the only one that can Judge me knowing my true value is the one whose opinion actually matters; and nothing else, and that is of course our Lord Jesus Christ!

The ways of the world are crooked and I’ve been burned badly by the world learning hard lessons about this very matter; that you acknowledge with your insight and wisdom!

We must stay in His good graces and seeking the Father’s will at all times; to the best of our ability! Amen.
      Thank you very much!
      God bless you and yours!

      Brother in Christ Jesus,

Oh Amber; “thoughtfulness and dedication,” that’s you kiddo and you’re so kind! Me, I’m good for a few laughs and being annoying now and again!

But, yea seriously; Jesus front and center that’s our biggest duty in this short life which to me is to be more and more humble while being a faithful as humanly possible servant, of our Lord Jesus Christ, who loves us beyond comprehension!

So, I know I have way too much to learn in this short life and if I can get to that Promised Land, then all my real learning and happiness will begin! Sounds like a plan and a great deal! Amen

          Totally awesome!
          Thank you Amber!
